TRAINING OUTLINE

THE LEADER AS STORYTELLER:
Using Strategic Storytelling to Inspire, Influence, and Drive Change

Duration: 1 day
Delivery: Face-to-Face
Level: Advanced

CORE IDEA: Use storytelling strategically to communicate vision, navigate change and influence organisational action.

  • Overview
A generic storytelling training teaches how to tell a good story. A senior leadership storytelling training teaches how to use stories to lead – to influence direction, create trust, align people, and move an organisation forward.
  • Description

Data and directives alone are no longer enough to move people. Senior leaders must connect strategy with purpose, and logic with emotion — this is where storytelling becomes a powerful leadership competency. This program is designed exclusively for senior leaders who want to strengthen their influence, inspire trust, and communicate with authenticity. Through the art and science of storytelling, participants will learn how to translate complex strategies into relatable narratives, lead through change with empathy, and share personal leadership stories that reinforce the organisation’s values and culture.

  • Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1.  Recognise storytelling as a core leadership competency that drives influence, alignment, and trust.
2. Craft compelling strategic stories that simplify complex business messages and connect emotionally with diverse audiences.
3. Develop authentic leadership narratives that reinforce credibility, empathy, and purpose.
4. Apply storytelling frameworks during times of change, uncertainty, or crisis to lead with confidence and compassion.
5. Enhance executive presence and delivery skills for impactful storytelling in boardrooms, town halls, and stakeholder engagements.
6. Integrate storytelling into ongoing leadership communication to reinforce values and sustain cultural alignment.
